Well our Pawesome clients have done it….again! A couple of years ago we set out to help Maricopa County Animal Care and Control by holding a food/blanket drive –
https://www.crittercaretakers.com/clients-of-pet-sitting-company-in-mesa-give-generously/ .
At that time, we were blown away by our clients generosity in donating 312 pounds of much needed food and 75 blankets and towels.
This time we decided to hold a drive for another worthy paws-see what I did there… 🙂 The organization, Save the Cats AZ, http://www.savethecatsaz.org/News.html is home and sanctuary to over 80 cats. Save the Cats goes through roughly 250 pounds of litter a WEEK! That’s a lot of litter! Save the Cats is a completely volunteer run organization with all donations 100% going to provide care for their cats. One of our current cat clients is a volunteer for this organization and reached out to me to see if I’d like to get involved in a litter drive for them. Being mom to 4 felines of my own, I did not hesitate to say yes, as I know how fast litter gets used. e set a goal of 1000 pounds of litter which would help the sanctuary with their litter needs for, we hoped, an entire month, freeing up much needed funds to go towards food and medical care for the shelter cats. At the end of our month long drive, between CCPS contribution and client donations we were excited to not only meet our goal, but exceed it, and collect 1425 pounds of litter!!! We also donated a bag of dry food and 42 cans of wet food! Do we have the best, most generous clients, or what?! The staff at Save the Cats were incredibly blown away by the donations and kept repeating over and over “This is just so awesome!”
If you missed out on the litter drive, but would like to make a tax deductible donation to the shelter, go here for the how to’s – they can always use donations:
